New Skoda Kodiaq Lounge 5-Seater Debuts in India with ₹39.99 Lakh Price Tag

New Skoda Kodiaq Lounge 5-Seater

Skoda Auto India has expanded its SUV lineup with the introduction of the New Skoda Kodiaq Lounge variant, featuring a practical 5-seater configuration. Priced competitively at ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kodiaq Lounge offers a fresh take on luxury and utility, making it an appealing choice for buyers seeking premium comfort without the bulk of a seven-seater.

New Skoda Kodiaq: Design and Exterior

The Kodiaq Lounge retains the sleek and commanding presence Skoda is known for, while distinguishing itself with subtle yet elegant changes. It rides on new 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels finished in a single-tone silver design. The exterior color options include Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey. Unlike the higher trims, the Lounge variant features fewer chrome accents, emphasizing a more understated appeal.

The Kodiaq Lounge is available in three colours: Moon White, Magic Black and Graphite Grey.

Skoda Kodiaq Lounge: Interior and Features

Inside, the Lounge variant embraces a spacious 5-seat layout, replacing the third row of seats with an expanded boot space of 786 liters, a significant increase from the 281 liters offered by seven-seater variants. The upholstery integrates grey fabric with faux-suede materials, providing a premium yet comfortable cabin atmosphere.

While the base Lounge misses out on some premium features found in the higher trims, it nonetheless packs a solid feature set including:

  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 9-speaker 100W audio system
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Three-zone climate control
  • Auto-dimming ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors)
  • Rear sunblinds
  • Sliding and reclining rear seats
  • Cruise control

The Lounge variant utilizes a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel in contrast to the three-spoke version on higher trims.

Skoda Kodiaq Lounge: Performance and Drivetrain

Under the hood, the Kodiaq Lounge houses the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 204 horsepower and a torque output of 320 Nm. This powertrain is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels via an AWD (all-wheel-drive) system.

Drivers can select from multiple driving modes including Eco, Normal, Sport, Off-road, Snow, and a customizable Individual mode, catering to diverse driving preferences and road conditions.

Safety and Technology

Safety features remain robust despite the Lounge’s more accessible pricing. It includes nine airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ABS with EBD, and traction control systems. However, it omits some advanced aids such as the 360-degree camera and driver drowsiness detection.

Pricing and Positioning

Starting at ₹39.99 lakh, the Lounge variant is positioned below the more feature-rich Sportline and top-tier Laurin & Klement variants. This pricing strategy makes the Kodiaq Lounge an attractive entry point into Skoda’s flagship SUV, especially for customers prioritizing luxury in a more practical 5-seat format.

Variant Prices
Lounge ₹39.99 Lakh
Sportline₹₹43.76 Lakh
L&K₹45.96 lakh

The new Skoda Kodiaq Lounge 5-Seater variant successfully combines the brand’s hallmark premium German engineering with the practicality Indian families seek. Its competitive pricing, ample space, and balanced feature list position it well against rivals in the luxury SUV segment. Prospective buyers looking for a sophisticated yet functional SUV should consider the Lounge variant as a compelling option.
